What kind of materials can I use on my project?

As part of the LBS family, we have direct access to our parent company’s large inventory of cover materials such as book cloths and specialty papers. We also offer bare board binders and raw board CI RIGIDBOX™ packaging styles that let you incorporate post-consumer waste paperboard into your creative design.

What kind of printing can you do?

We offer offset printing, digital printing, and UV inkjet printing. Our sales team can recommend the best techniques for achieving your desired look.

What type of decorating options do you offer?

We offer a variety of decorating techniques ranging from blind debossing, foil stamping, spot gloss UV, different laminations, notches and finger pulls, custom packaging inserts, pockets, and other accessories. Your Sales Representative will be happy to showcase our options and recommend the best decorating technique to achieve your desired look.

Do you provide mock-ups or prototypes?

Yes! There’s no charge for producing a plain white mock-up hand-built to your specifications as long as your project meets our minimum requirements. If you require multiple copies, we’ll provide those for a pre-paid fee depending on the complexity and timing of your project. These non-printed mock-ups are created to allow you to approve size and fit for your application.

If you would like to see a prototype that incorporates your artwork into the physical construction of your product, those are available at a pre-paid fee and will be hand-assembled once the purchase order for the project has been received.

In some cases, 3D renderings are a great alternative to visualize your concept.

Do you offer fulfillment?

As every project and product is different, we would love to discuss the needs of your project to customize a fulfillment program within our capabilities of service.

ORDERING

How do I get started on a project?

Where can I buy your products?

Currently, all Corporate Image products are exclusively available through Corporate Image.

What is your minimum order quantity?

Most of our products start at a minimum quantity of 500 units. There are some exceptions due to project complexity. Our pocket folders require a minimum quantity of 1,000. Please contact your Sales Representative for more details.

What are your average lead times?

It depends! Currently, we ask that you plan for 4-6 weeks of production time from proof approval. Your Client Success Manager will provide you with an estimated ship date as soon as the manufacturing process begins.

How do I get status updates on my order?

Your Client Success Managers will ensure you are updated on your project as it enters each stage of production.

Can you sign an NDA?

Yes, we’ll happily accommodate your privacy requirements.

DESIGN & PRODUCTION

Do you send samples?

We’re happy to send samples! However, our sample supply is always changing, so we may not have the sample of a specific style and design on hand.

Can I have design templates?

Yes, we provide templates for our presentation materials to ensure your design is within score lines, glue strips, tuck flaps, and die-cutting tolerances. For our CI RIGIDBOX™ packaging line, our inhouse design team will work with you to ensure optimal placement of your artwork, which means that templates are not required.

Do you have standard dies?

We do not use standard dies. However, we may already have a die on hand that fits your specifications. In that case, your Sales Representative will notify you.

Can I see proofs or mock-ups of my project?

We offer digital proofs prior to production and you are always welcome to press check. Please let your Sales Representative or Client Success Manager know in advance if you wish to press check your project.

Do you offer graphic design services?

We offer some graphic design advice but are not a creative agency. If you have a trusted design or branding partner, we can work with them to ensure your artwork is created in line with our production process. For more guidance, please refer to this overview of prepping your art for prepress.

What do you mean by custom design?

We mean that we don’t believe in the one-size-fits-all approach. We start the structural design of your projects around your brand and your materials.

BILLING

What is your credit policy?

If you’re a new customer, a credit application is required before a project can go into production. Please allow adequate time to complete the process.

Do you require a down payment?

Pre-payment may be required as determined by our credit department. We accept various forms of payment, including check, ACH deposits, and the following major credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, American Express.

When will I be billed?

The terms of billing are determined with your credit application. Deposit requirements aside, orders are invoiced the day they ship. Payment is due within 30 days from date of the invoice.

SHIPPING

Do you ship outside the USA?

Absolutely. We can arrange shipping or work with shipping arrangements made by you. Billing practices may change based on ship-to location.

Can you help me find a freight provider?

Yes, Corporate Image has longstanding partnerships with a variety of freight companies and we are happy to make a recommendation or set up the shipment for you.

Can I use my own freight provider/account?

Yes, we can ship on your account.

How much do you charge for shipping?

Shipping rates are determined by our freight provider and may change. Corporate Image has no influence on the cost of shipping but will ensure your project is packed efficiently for safe transit and minimal shipping cost.

Do you offer drop shipment?

Yes. We will drop ship for you. Additional costs may apply.

SUSTAINABILITY

Are your products recyclable?

We have sustainable solutions available for most projects. Our binders and CI RIGIDBOX™ packaging start with >95% post-consumer waste paperboard. Other material options include FSC® certification and all paper-based products utilize renewable fiber that complies with the Lacey Act. For binders, you will need to remove the rings before sending it to the recycling center. Our metal rings can also be recycled.

Please discuss your recyclability requirements and sustainability objectives with your Sales Representative and they will provide you with material recommendations to meet your needs. Please note that many cloths and specialty papers may not be curbside recyclable.

Do you use eco-friendly materials?

Since 1983, the core of every binder, architectural folder, and sample board has been made from 100% post-consumer waste binders board. Our CI RIGIDBOX™ packaging utilizes rigid paperboard made from >95% PCW and most of our cover material choices contain a high percentage of renewable materials. Are you FSC® certified?

Yes, we are certified to the Forest Stewardship Council® Chain of Custody Standard, which ensures that the wood fiber for our FSC® certified products has been responsibly sourced and provides environmental, social, and economic benefits. Please ask your Sales Representatives about FSC® certified products for your Corporate Image project.

Where are you located?

Our main office and production facilities are all located in Des Moines, Iowa. The mailing address is 1801 Thompson Ave, Des Moines, IA 50316.

We also have employees in our team that work remotely from across the United States.

How long have you been in business?

Corporate Image was founded in 1983. We are a division of LBS, founded in 1921. You can learn more about our company’s history and our 3 divisions here.

Who owns you?

We are a 100% employee-owned company.

What are your company values?

Our innovative CI RIGIDBOX™ packaging line and our presentation materials are all produced in Des Moines, IA. Our parent company LBS, the U.S. leading supplier of bookbinding and luxury packaging materials, has their main warehouse just up the road from our production facility.

Do you have an office in my area?

Most of our employees are located in the Heartland but our Sales Representatives are eager to visit new partners, just say the word!
