Custom boxes in an abundance of styles
Sales totes, medical information kits, financial planning guides and promotion packaging: paperboard boxes are the ideal solution for many packaging projects. Paperboard offers numerous customizing options like handles and closures, full color printing and print finishes as well as different styles and material strengths to present your materials.
Let’s take a look at some technical specs before we go over design examples and die numbers.
Specs and features
For our paperboard boxes we generally use 18 to 24 pt stock in either C1S or C2S, depending on the needs of the project. 24pt is adds stability to your box or mailer and is recommended for heavier materials. We can custom print your packaging project either on our offset press (for quantities 250 and up) or on our digital press for lower quantities. To protect the print we can laminate your box with matte, gloss or soft touch films. Foil stamping, spot UV, die-cutting and debossing are additional finishing options you can use to set your box apart.
You can often choose between different closure options like tuck closures, Velcro® closures or magnets. Handles can also be added to make it easier to carry your box or to get it off the shelf.
Another advantage of paperboard boxes is that they ship flat, so you’re shipping costs from our production facility in Des Moines, IA to your delivery address will be cheaper. Since they ship flat, they will have to be assembled before they can be used.
These examples show a small variety of customizing options. Turtle Bay Resort added a handle to their offset printed and laminated 24 pt box, die #8607. The LBS sample box is offset printed with 4c + 1 PMS, laminated and uses a tuck flap closure, die #9807. Delta Dental uses 2 Velcro® closures for their offset printed box which also shows beautiful spot UV details on the front, die #8555.
